More information about BOU conferences

ANNUAL SPRING CONFERENCES

University of Leicester
The BOU usually holds its annual spring conference at the University's Gilbert Murray Centre at the Oadby Campus (not the city centre campus) on Manor Road. See here.

NOTE - for the 2011 Migratory Birds conference, we are using Digby Hall as the conference venue. Digby Hall is situated along Stoughton Drive South. See here.

Getting to the conference venue
Leicester is centrally placed in England and is easy to get to by road, rail and air.

If you arrive by public transport in the city centre you can get a bus to the Oadby campus, get a taxi or walk.

More information on the University of Leicester travel and maps pages here.

Accommodation in Leicester
If you have booked as a Conference Resident you will stay in student accommodation on the Oadby campus. All the rooms are within five minutes walk of the conference hall.

Are meals included?
Conference Residents have all their meals included in the price they have paid. Non-residents (i.e. those who have not booked accommodation as part of their conference attendance) will have the meals they have paid for detailed on their booking confirmation.

Arriving late
If you arrive at the conference venue after 10pm you can collect your room key from the porters lodge at John Foster Hall (Manor Road, Leicester, LE2 2LG. Tel. 0116 221 2035) which is opposite the Gilbert Murray Centre).
